The following actions are in place today:

Teaching Staff

A ban on written student report comments or replacement for comments such as phone calls, parent meetings or learning journeys

“Speaking out” to inform parents and the community about the realities of the bargaining dispute

Campaign messaging embedded in email signatures

Targeted work stoppages during visits by ACT Labor MLAs

Wearing red or AEU merchandise on Fridays

A ban on undertaking professional learning recorded or administered through the Human Resource Information Management System (HRIMS)

A ban on engaging in professional learning communities (PLCs)

A ban on principals performing the following delegated to them by the Head of ACTPS or the Director-General of the Education Directorate under the Agreement or the ACT Public Sector Administrative and Related Classifications Enterprise Agreement 2023 - 2026, except where it poses a risk to student or staff safety

A ban on the implementation at a school of the Language Education Action Plan

A limitation on the performance of work whereby employees perform no more than the minimum required by the rules of their workplace, comprising a ban on attending or participating in staff meetings held after 3:30pm

A ban on providing, or assisting with the provision of, promotional material in response to requests from the Education Directorate, and on participating in public promotion of the Education Directorate. 

A ban on attending or participating in meetings convened by or on behalf of the Education Support Office (ESO), other than meetings directly related to the immediate educational needs of students or safety. 

A ban on participating in surveys initiated by or on behalf of the Education Directorate.

A limitation on the performance of work whereby employees perform no more than the minimum required by the rules of their workplace, comprising each employee taking the full meal break to which they are entitled of not less than 45 minutes

A ban on participating in surveys initiated by or on behalf of the Education Directorate

A ban on playground supervision of students, being supervision of students outside of direct learning, classroom activities or individual student care or support

A ban on performing duties outside of those explicitly required by an employee’s job description or position description, except where it poses a risk to student or staff safety
